Cedric and Sofia travel to the Mystic Isles to preview a peculiar orb that some of the Protectors discovered while investigating an abandoned refuge, which once hosted a band of wayward warlocks. While trying to determine how it works, they somehow get propelled into the future, where they discover a mysterious situation that desperately needs a conclusion.
